Polly Patch's story
Polly Patch used to live in a wooden hut in the middle of a forest and made teddy bears from the things she found when she went walking. She found things like buttons, ribbons, sheep's wool and flowers. She also made her clothes from scraps of cloth that she patched together which is why she's called Polly Patch. She takes her favourite teddy bear, Toggley-Tom, everywhere she goes.
One day, Polly Patch was walking through the forest and she decided to follow a deer because it was so pretty. But she couldn't keep up with the deer and she got lost! She wandered around for hours and hours and then she found a door in a tree. She went inside to have a rest and fell through a trapdoor. She landed with a big bump in Bedlam! The Bedlam Bunch people loved Toggley-Tom, and her clothes, so Polly Patch stayed there and made teddies and dresses and tops and trousers for everyone.
